Feeling blue, IC 447. ISO 6400 More data & colour.
Nice to be imaging again.
Haven't imaged since early December.
This is nebula ( IC 447 ) is quite unusual, seems quite a different blue to other similar nebula, even in a single sub without processing.
I need another 2 hours on this but it looks promising.

8” F/4 astrograph , baader type 3 coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D plus cooler box. 30 subs at ISO 6400. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop Cs2..

Yes mate, go for it. It looks like an interesting bit of sky that will make another great addition to your portfolio, and I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Sorry about that, subs were 2 minutes.
Seems perfect for ISO 6400 under dark skies .
The cooler box is struggling, only 10c below ambient. I need to replace the internal fan, they seem to wear out frequently which mucks up the cooling.
It should be running 15 to 17c below ambient.

I find balancing the stars to nebula tricky, makes quite a difference when the balance is right.

Very nice Justin. There's a lot HA signal around this object and make a contrast with the blue of reflection. The unmodified camera doesn't help about.

I noticed the HA regions in Ross G's image, must be reasonably faint not a lot showing.
What camera have you bought??

I bought a Sony A5100, I have a few projects lined up that need a small light camera with low noise and this suited the best. I tried it out on the scope on Friday night and it's looking like it should work great. The 24MP should really help out with my wide fields too.
I also got a Samyang 12 f2 lens for it and it is amazing for nightscapes.
managed to get some more data, not a lot only 40 minutes.
It has made a difference, colour coming through better and a little HA too.
Hope to get more data Monday.

hi justin sorry to hear about the fan, are you running a computer fan? i have switched to RCCI over MPCC just now (which gives space for nb and other things), first test on spacing (only two subs before clouds rolled in) i think i have it about right- those varilocks do move slightly when you are tightening other parts to them hmmm. because i'm going OAG i think a cooled finger may be my go (noise was un fixable with the sensor at 33degs and now i have some more space).
i think the 40 mins extra has really upped the image too

It's similar to a computer fan, blade configuration is different and mounting. Having said that I am using a mother board fan at the moment.
A cold finger is the go, saves on weight. I'm too chicken now to mod my camera's after stuffing up one my 1100D's.
