Comet Lovejoy

Taken at Linden NSW with a Stock Canon 100D using a 300mm Zoom Lense. Guiding on the comet. 12 Subs at 5 Mins each.

I couldn't get the Tail to show up. I guess a 300mm Zoom lense just doesn't have enough appertaure to capture the tail.

I can see something but I am not sure if it's wishfull thinking. When I was taking the Subs I could have sworn I could see the tail. Maybe better contrast at night.

I think there is a definition of a tail but quite faint. I think it needs longer exposures. I think there is a deception which stacking artefacts as well that can hide the tail. I have the same problem with my images
