Hi guys.
Here's my first of the luna session from the 31st August. Seeing seemed ok with brief moments of sharpness, but the 2° difference in temperature between mirror and ambient caused lots of fluctuations.
I couldn't get enough sharp focus at high resolution (5x powermate), so I dropped back to the 3x and then the 2x barlow in order to get a sharper image.
This image is taken with the 2x barlow, and is a mosaic made from 3 avi's, processed using 18 alignment points in registax 3 (manual!). Hopefully i'll install registax 4beta today and it will make processing the rest of the avi's from that session much quicker!
The image is of the Aristoteles crater (bottom), with Eudoxus above it. The flood filled Cassini can be seen in shadow to the top right of the image.
The attached image had to be compressed by about 35% to get it under 150k, you can see the less-compressed (but same resolution) version
here (280k).
Thanks for looking.
