another denver chair

I decided to make a denver chair with some spare wood about the place. Even so it still cost me approx $35 in hardware.

I did deviate from the plans in that I made the seat platform wider and deeper to accommodate my larger frame. Because of this I somehow ended up with seat supports that are slightly different in measurements than the plans, not good when the plans say it is critical to be exact.

However, the seat seems to function fine albeit it is a bit tippy at lower height settings, i.e. leaning forwards the back comes off the ground. Disconcerting but still stable.

Is this normal for the design? Should I make the uprights longer? (Could do with a back rest at higher settings!)

Pics uploaded.

The only other thing that I'm unhappy with is the stabilizing feet, there's a little left to right rocking so I need to shave a little off the bottom of the uprights so that the feet take up the ground contact duties. Probably not an issue on soft ground, though I am considering shaving the bottom of the feet to match the 22.5deg angle on the bottom of the uprights..

What about three rubber stoppers two at the front and one in the middle at the back
that will stop the wobble

I might see what I've got here, need to find some padding for the seat and I don't really want to add to much more to the cost of the proj, otherwise i'll boot myself for not just getting a bintel stellar seat! Probably end up with one anyway.
