Now I know why they rave about the ED80.

Took this shot last night with the brand spanking Skywatcher ED80. The images seemed to have better contrast than through the 10"SN. Bought the ED80 as a guide scope but that seems like a waste of good optics now. Might relegate the 10" to be a guide scope!

Davo it's a great image but it looks like there's heaps more detail hidden in there.
Do you mind if I have a little go at your image?

Nice shot Dave. Very sharp. It certainly is a ripper of a little scope. I'd like to see it come out with a 10:1 crayford rather than the standard.

Great shot, i gotta agree with the quality of the ED80, mine never fails to produce shots i am happy with.

Wht adapters are you using, should be straight forward with the 350d.

I will post some links to the adapters i got from ScopeStuff, if you like, they make some of the locally sold stuff look pretty cheap and nasty.

ED80 is no guidescope, performs as well as OTA's costing 2-3 times as much.

Thanks Davo,

Let me know what you think of this.
Having the original would be good too.

I can PM my email to you if you like it.

Cheers

PS The ED80 is an awesome scope mate.

Tidalphase that would be great. I have a canon eos t-ring which screws straight onto the focuser of my Meade 10"SN. I need an adaptor to screw the t-ring to the ED80 focuser. The links would be much appreciated.
If anyone could post a picture of the adaptors they use to connect a Canon to the Skywatcher that would be great.

Dave the standard T ring should screw straight on to the 1.25" reducer which should be machined with a T thread

It does on mine, however I bought an Orion 2 inch prime focus adapter (Bintel have them) as I wasn't all that impressed with the bevel fit on the 1.25 ED80 standard reducer.
