Copernicus from 2nd Sept 2006

Hello

Initially, last night looked promising. The jet stream map looked the best it has for a while and the image on the screen showed moments of 5 or 6/10 seeing with low frequency jitters. Then, a front must have passed through as the frequency of the jitters increased although there were still those moments of very nice seeing where some amazing detail could be resolved.

Anyhow, to cut a long story short, here is a Copernicus “manufactured” using 5 MAP’s of around 100 frames each, the best from an 1800 frame avi.

Cheers

Dennis

Very nice Dennis. I was hoping someone else was out in it. I've got about 40 lunar avi's from last night just waiting for some attention.

It was a lovely sight visually, too, and your image is very reflective of that.

Doh! Missed that night Dennis. Copernicus looks great - love this shot, the spattering around the crater always impresses when the seeing's half decent. Great stuff
