Another pony..

Hi all

This is just over 9hr of Ha data of the horsey (..or maybe the lion's head is more appropriate in this orientation?) - & still a bit noisy. North is down & East to the right.

Vixen VC200L @ f/9, QHY9 binned 2x2 (seeing was never better that about 2.7" over the past three nights here in Melbourne), 15min subs, EQ8

Dark subtracted & DDP applied.

Not quite the pedigree of some recent examples here, but reasonably pleased with the 8" performance...

Comments welcome.

best wishes

Maurice

Hi Maurice,
Looking great - it will make a nice luminance or partial Red frame
for a later picture.

You got seeing of 2.7".
On the 27th of December 2014 the best I measured was 3.5"
but it only lasted for 20 minutes.
Most of the time it was 4.5" to 6.5" - very poor seeing.
I have seen it drop to 2" in Melbourne on a few occasions only.

cheers
Allan

Thanks Terry.
I could use a bit more aperture though....

Thank you John. It was fun collecting the Ha data, but I'd really like to head up to Heathcote again soon to get some RGB from a dark sky..

Thanks Mike. Not quite like your effort though.
Amazing that you can get 1hr subs... I'd be paranoid of something spoiling the shot over that time from here.

Thanks Allan.
My mistake - the seeing in Ha only was about 2.7" on the 27th & not over the visible range.

Regards
Maurice

Hi Maurice,

Thats a nice effort alright, especially considering the attached file resolution limitations.

Where have you been Maurice?

Regards,

Steve
