Lonely camera,high in the hills

Here is a photo of a remote activated camera I made, its been up the Bunya mountains since 25th of September,I have not been near it since.Looking forward to getting up there one day to pick it up.

I have been making and using these cameras for a while now,I have modified quite a few things to get the results I want. The results have been seen by many agricultural agencies and publishers around the world. The results must have been of particular note to many,as have been asked to write articles, and do tutorials on so on.

A magazine currently out now,has a five page article,on the images I have collected and story,so if you want to have a look at more images, have a look at January issue 'Sporting Shooter'.

I have posted a few images from the article,I cannot post all,due to religious and vegan beliefs of some on this forum.

A very cool hobby Chris.
What kind of camera do u use to be able to leave it out unattended for so long?
And how do u access the images (are the cameras net-connected)?

Trev. The camera is a 'hacked' Sony S600 its a regular digital camera, obsolete now,and these are purchsed second hand, and a kit is bought from states, and the poor little Sony S600 is hacked and butchered like something in a 'Cyberman' factory!

The end result,is a camera that is in a water proof box, with 'port hole',and connected to two D size batteries, and then tied to a tree in the middle of now where,a sensor picks up movement, and the camera starts taking images. To get that data,it all old school,I have to travel back to it and swap cards.

They cams generally last two months or more, although if put near a water hole in a drought, where hig traffic would run low sooner. This one on Bunya Mts,has been out for two and a half months.

Its kinda like a chess game,a mix of all my hobbies-hunting/photography/trapping although these days, there not hobbies but work,as working for govt on dingo patrol, nice view from the office though........

Haven't ever seen a dingo in the flesh, or a fox since leaving NSW in 1980.
That dingo photo is lovely and sharp, with great colour.
