A try at NGC 1532.
Hi,
After seeing Steve's magnificent image of NGC 1532 I had to have a go at this spectacular galaxy.
I'm happy with the result even with only 74 minutes of data, certainly worth further imaging even with my basic setup.
8" F/4 astrograph HEQ pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.
Unmodded canon 1100D, baader type III coma corrector.
19 x 2 minute subs ISO 6400 and 9 x 4 minute ISO 1600. Stacked in DSS, processed in PS Cs2.
Image cropped.
Also full frame.
Cheers,
Justin.

Nice one Justin. It's a fascinating object. Are you going back for more data? Would be interesting to see what you can squeeze out of your system.

Excellent image Justin!
I must have a go at this one myself sometime. I didn't even know about it. Stellarium seems to have the size incorrect so I ignored it.

Great capture Justin, for me galaxy images are always cool to look at whether they are processing masterpieces from a mountain top or quick snaps with a basic setup like this one

Got the dark skies, it would be a crime not to try the faint stuff.
