Light trespass

Yesterday arvo I noticed the skies were clear so I quickly set up my 'scope planning to look at faint galaxies in Pavo and Telescopium but behold, my plans ruined The Bone heads next door had their outdoor light on and shining onto the tube of my telescope. So I looked at a few bright DSO's and packed up after 30 mins. Their light was on all night. It was still on when I went to TAFE this morning, hell it was still on when I came home. Pam, my dear wife pointed out why the cursed light has been on all this time. There sitting on a stool under the light is a Mull plant! My Astronomy ruined coz my neighbours think having their patio light on 24/7 is going to help their waccy tobaccy grow better? I am not going dob the idiots in to the cops/ landlord, I am just a bit ticked off is all.

Go over and tell them if they build an aluminium foil shroud around the light and the plant it'll work better. But no light can get out. It helps keep the heat in to keep it warm

I have not seen the new legislation but I have been told that using lights (or any semblance of a hydroponic system) to grow dope exposses you now to 20 years in the slammer . Hydroponics is associated with a commercial opperation. Add that when explaing about the foil and let fear take its course . Or invite them over for a look whilst they are stoned I suspect you could convert them to the dark side .
If you build yourself a light tube with baffles, the light wont worry you very much, then if you add a hood like the old time photographers.

I have already rigged up a shade to stop the light trespass. A large magnolia tree already stops most of the offending light, a tarp will take care of the rest.

Or you could do an early harvest.. , Thanx steve I was thinking of weed killer and a water pistol
