Corona Australis nebula complex

Hi all,

here's an image I did recently of the Corona Australis nebula complex. You can find a higher res image here

Telescope: 12-inch f/5 newtonian telescope on German Equatorial Mount.
GuidingHand: guided using a 4.5-inch f/18 guide-scope.
Camera: Canon EOS 300D Digital - Hα enabled (modified).
Exposures:
2006-08-18: 8 x 3-minute exposures @ ISO 400.
2006-08-19: 16 x 3-minute exposures @ ISO 400.
Total Exposure time: 72 minutes.
Filter/equipment:
Baader 2" Multi-Purpose Coma Corrector.
Baader 2" UV/IR Cut Filter.
Processing:
Dark frame subtraction, bias and flat-fielded in Iris, masked in Photoshop and a little Noiseware.Exposure Date2006 Aug 18 and Aug 19.

A stunning and unique looking image, Paul.

Great nebulosity and amazing detail.

What focal length was this working at? It appears to be quite hi-res.

The effective photographic focal length is about 1875mm. Also you are only seeing a cropped portion of the entire image, which was then divided by 2 to get the image size we see now.

Excellent work, taken over 2 nights too. 72 mins ensuring theres plenty of detail present.
