Noisy and as washed out as laundry...

... but I managed another hour on M78 with the FSQ85ED.

I had to do SOMETHING as I await the precious 2 hours I get on this target every available night, so here is a total of 1hr 20 mins of M 78, complete with 4 satellite trails (flats didn't completely remove them, nor did median stacking and reject algorithms).

Yep, it's gross and puke-esque, but it's SOMETHING for a change

It's not that bad, Lewis. More data (nearly) always helps and will likely allow you to get rid of the satellite trails. Flats won't help with that...

Cheers,
Rick.

You are all too merciful I do like though how the H-a cloud is starting to come through (however detail lacking though), and the lovely tiny OIII reflection nebula below NGC 2071

Had a really hard time battling the LP - Orion rises right over the neighbouring block of units and major road, and the IDAS LP filter was REALLY throwing on the green cast with all those subs (yet nowhere near the same colour cast on a GX project I was working on in Pavo) - took a lot of fiddling to balance it out, which tended to booger the stars somewhat.

Anyway, maybe a stack more data to come, but I only get max 2 hours given my constraints with Orion, and that's currently JUST prior to dawn (had to reject 3 subs due to morning twilight) so it's going to be finished, oh, sometime in 2017 at this rate.

Maybe I can change the image scales and overlay my previous FL102S data onto it... http://www.astrobin.com/full/106523/0/ Or is that cheating?

All cheating is allowed in this game. I did it with NGC253 using a 6 inch reflector and the ED100.

The only thing that might be of concern is your noisy washing.
