Ngc 300

Hi All,

Even from light polluted Melbourne LRGB imaging is, just, possible.

NGC 300 from suburban Werribee about 7 hours total integration time, the four last night (all Luminance) were affected by poor seeing, but included anyway.

The background is really black as a side effect of LP removal.

Larger version here

Share and Enjoy

Cheers
Stuart

Impressive Stuart, considering the light pollution.

Well worth the effort!

Thanks Darren.

Have the council rolled out the LED streetlights in your area yet? They replaced the one out the front of my place a while ago. I wrote to them to complain, they are really bright. On a dark night walking from my house to the obs I used to have to clear a path (or put my damn stuff away, as SWMBO phrases it) so I didn't trip over stuff. No problems now the bloody streetlight illuminates the way. An engineer is coming over to measure the amount of light spill to see if it's outside the AS.

Cheers
Stuart

Clean, sharp, high contrast, excellent colour, overall excellent processing for an urban RGB shot. I like the black background, makes it pop.

No Stuart, haven't had the pleasure of the new street lights yet, The update to the local community centre with its high intensity car park lighting to my immediate north-east has really got me beat though!

You'd swear on some nights, Jupiter 2 had just landed!

Ah well!
