IC4628 Widefield

A 300mm Pentax lens shot with an ST-X10ME.
I am really impressed with the quality of the lens.

Lovely shot Steven. That 300mm lens is really doing a great job for you. The only thing I might do is increase the contrast just a tad then I think it would be even better.

Cheers

Steve

Very very nice Steven, I used the EDIF version of this Lens for a while and found it a fantastic lens, sharp with negligible chromatic aberration, pity it is discontinued and not easy to find..

Thanks Marco.
The 300mm is great and is a very good match with the ST-X10ME as it can be used at full aperture.

Regards

Steven

This looks good Steven, I like the wide field of view and the nebulosity looks three dimensional in the field. The 300mm lens gives a nice flat field also.

It's such a compelling object -- it really makes you look around.

Top shelf work, as always, Steven.

I've got four hours of hydrogen alpha with 30-minute exposures (as filler), and it looks great so far. Will keep adding to it while the Moon is full.

It will be interesting to see what you come up with.
