I have added some colour to the Neptune/Triton image I grabbed with the C9.25 and ST7E on 6th August.
Pane 1 is the C9.25 at prime focus with the ST7E (full frame).
Pane 2 is the C.925 with x2.5 Barlow and ST7E (cropped).
Pane 3 is the C9.25 at prime focus with the Meade LPI (cropped).
I resampled Neptune from the Meade LPI image and overlaid it on Neptune in Pane 2.
It looks too artificial for my liking, due to the halo around Neptune in Pane 2, and the obvious fact that the rest of the image is clearly in B&W.
Oh well, ‘twas a nice hour or two playing around….
If you've got some time on your hands Dennis, how about coming up and colour/curve/level balancing my Neptune and Uranus images I'm collecting for the animation.
Yes Lee, DMK21AF04 (or equivalents). It's an imaging device, like a webcam, but better. It's what I use now for my imaging. Robert_T also has one.
What was your EM200 mounted on before, Dennis?
Hi Mike
I have the SE-L (large) tripod which ideal for imaging but places the eyepiece too high for visual observing. Stephan was selling the SE-M which is the medium height model, and is the one recommended for visual observing. This will place the eyepiece and finderscope in a much more accessible position for eyeballing; something my wife will appreciate as well.
