OCD - Obsessive Collimation Disorder

Does any body else have this? Or am I the only one that sets up the Dob in the kitchen on cloudy nights, checks the focusser is square, bungs in a laser to check that the beam hits the centre of the secondary thread, gets out the Cheshire tube, collimates, gets anxious that the laser may not be collimated properly etc. Is it really just me?

There is therapy available!! Seriously, I was an OCD sufferer for years but I found actually taking the scope out at night a deliberately de collimating it slightly. Result I learned was that visually at least the difference was most commonly barely detectable if at all.
Helps one to be more relaxed about collimation! Having said that it is not about being slap dash with collimation, just learning not to obsess about it.

I may try that! I may even remove the teflon tape that I wrapped around the bolt of the secondary holder to keep it exactly centred in the central hole of the spider.

I did exactly the same with my dob (I mean the wrapping...). I don't know if I have the courage to remove the tape, but I will try to force myself. I might just try to remove it in a quick and painless way, like you remove a band-aid.
