RCW102-106 region

A messy region of the sky illustrating some very faint nebulae against the backdrop of our galaxy.

A 300mm Pentax lens and ST-10XME was used for this 6 hr Ha exposure.

Large resolution here.

Heaps of dust and gas in that region. Some quite interesting knots.

Very nice capture. It is a very interesting region.
Near RCW 102 we can perceive the presence of Ant Nebula, despite of the appearance as two stars together.

I did Ant nebula, but I had not much signal to register well the RCW 102. http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=124366

Nice one Steven. That's obviously a good 300mm lens. I've visited this region a couple of times. Here's a magnified view of the centre showing the Ant nebula.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Steve,

I was aware of your fine image.
It's good to see something a bit different.

That's a really good shot. Great dynamic range. I like the central bits like the veil and the dark lanes.
