First light new scope

Hi guys and gals

I don't think I have posted an image of anything for a while due to work, university, or lousy weather. Last weekend was set to be a corker but with a new scope being shipped I didn't want to start a new project so I waited for it to come in the mail. To my surprise all of the parts came on Monday, and the skies looked good for a practice run.

The new scope is a Televue NP101 and this is 6 30 minute subs of ngc6559. I have some minor issues at the corners but I think I know the culprit as things are a little dodgily rigged together at the moment (Stuff waiting for adaptors I want to play NOW!)

I have been chewing Pauls ear off about it with excitement so im glad to be able to produce this.

This is also the first test of a home made dewstrap that I made using some nichrome wire covered in a neoprene sleeve which worked really well.

Thanks for looking

Looks like field rotation Pete. The single frame you sent to me was pretty nice.

Once you get this small inconvenience out of the way, this will be a ripper.

Thanks, yes I tried my best to miss M8 but with this new wide scope it crept into the image anyway!

Ahh it could be field rotation! The joys of setting up each night! I will be more careful with my PA next time.

POW! As usual, your images punch! WOW! I have to try 30 min subs myself again.

Nice to see you came to the refractor side

Thanks Lewis! Yes I decided on getting a refractor because it makes life a little easyer when it comes to transport and setting up each night.
