Pickering's Triangle - added starless version (I'm a believer, Fred!)
Starting to get some OIII data for my Veil Nebula mosaic. Here's a crop of one pane containing "Pickering's Triangle." Approximately 8 hours of Ha and 8 hours of OIII with a Tak FSQ-106ED scope and QSI683 camera.
First attempt at processing this and I'm not entirely happy with it so I'd appreciate constructive criticism as always...
Gaud, thats just stunning!!!!. Having said that, this singular object, bar none, can with effort be rendered to appear absolutely razor sharp. This is damb close though, top effort!.

Thanks, Fred. I didn't blink through the subs yet and reject the worst ones. Hopefully I can squeeze a littlle more sharpness out of it.

With the QSI are you using a reducer or is this at f5? Sorry if you have told me this before but I have forgotten.
Ta, Paul. Just native f/5.

Thanks, Marc. I'm not entirely happy with the stars and the background so more work needed. If I can get it right on one panel I'll be in good shape when I finally have data for the whole mosaic.
Oh, riiiight, the Veil Nebula... I thought I was looking at a nerve cell under a microscope Amazing area that both in terms of what it looks like and what it actually is
Amazing Rick.
Depth, Detail, Nice stars and black background. A nice interpretation in processing.
Impressive.
Thanks, Trevor!

Ta, Greg. It's nice to have some new objects and an abundance of data. It's processing time that I'm short on now.

Thanks for looking, Robin. Might try a starless version for my next experiment (and then attempt some tone mapping...)
