Thumbs up Telrad first light

Just took delivery of my Telrad this week.... first light last night. Great piece of kit, especially for a dob with a right angled finder - saves a lot of ginning around. Between the moon light and wind last night, I really just sighted it in and played around, but was very impressed! Don't know why it took so long to get one....

They are a lot bigger in "person" too.

A hint: don't forget to turn it off - just turned mine off then! There's 14hr of battery life gone!

Now I'm thinking I should have kept mine instead of donating it to Mike

Telrad is the best finder. I just wish they weren't so bulky (unnecessarily so) and had auto power off.

Congrats on the Telrad! Excellent addition to any scope. Don't worry too much about the battery. I've been using the same battery for close to 4 years now, and I've left the Telrad on overnight more than once. (one time for 3 days)

Haven't been TOO worried by the battery life. I use it on fairly low brightness anyway, too bright and you can't see the stars you are trying to point at!
