Mind reading

I hope this is not regarded as silly as it could be regarded so
And I post it prompted by reference in another thread to Myth Busters determining could plants sence stuff.
I hope others can contribute strange observation
I would feed my 4 dogs
At a point each day they obviously worked out I was about to feed them
I wondered what did I do what was the trigger
I eliminated all action and finally would sit motionless
They lay around I made sure nothing was to give a hint
I would then visualise good going in the bowel the and hear the pelets
Those dogs reacted jumping up excited
I still did not move as they paraded happily expectantly around
Contrary to popular belief here I am scientific in my approach and observation such that I did this on no less than 6 separate occasionseach with the same result
Was it a fluke
Can dogs read the mind of a human
Did my body give off a scent because it thought of food
Curious

Hi Alex,

I have had an experience which I believe can be repeated. However, some may say it is a trick. It is not something that I discuss openly. It scared me when I conducted the experiment.

I too have similar behaviour from my dog Alex. I believe he hears or sees certain activity leading up to feeding time.
I often cut a few slices of cheese and share a little with the dog, Rambo. Often Rambo is asleep but when the cheese comes out he is ready and waiting for a share. It does not matter how quiet I may be. I try a lot of ways to fool him but he has those pleading eyes when the cheese is out.

I gather from the lack of response to this thread that people are reluctant to discuss telepathy experiences.
I am a sane person. My psychiatrist said so. No, that is just a joke. I am a retired soldier of 20 years service. I do not colour the facts.

From my own experiences, what I have observed and what creditable documentaries I have watched has led me to become interested in this telepathy thing. Its not that I believe in it nor that I disbelieve in it. Like I have stated before there is enough evidence that has me interested.

Cheers

one of our cats used to get up and go sit by the door 5 minutes before I arrived home from work. I could be early, I could be late but 5 minutes before I arrived she would be waiting. parking and walking in took no more than 2 minutes and even if I varied the direction I came to the house the timings were the same - telepathy - maybe. maybe thats when I came into range of their perception?

mind control is like having what you said repeated back to you with a 2ms delay and trying to think of your next words in a sentence ..

animals have instinctive minds .. and act on that. my cat use to wait for me also .. another cat would come home at a certain time .. for food, perhaps .. but always the same time.

dogs are diffferent .. I could look at the ball and he would go and get it .. I think they evaluate and determine what you're looking at and then perceive what's next .. hence when you throw a ball they already are on their way to intercept instead of chase, unlike a cat.

anyways my 1 cent ..
matt

ps. routine is always another aspect of domisticated animals .. the goldfish in my tank know when I remove the glass off the top know either food or a water change .. the latter makes them unhappy

Paul Hogan in crocodile Dundee might be able to elaborate when he did that thing with the buffalo (or whatever it was ) \m/ and watch the movie the Manchurian Canidate.

and going back on my last post, cats in the wild chase their prey, whereas dogs like dingos tend to roam around campsites or hyenias tend to rely on food from others .. accentuating their is no mind control it's just instinct .. if you look at their bowl and not them they know something is happening. if you stare a dog down you gain it's respect etc

I agree, if you only pretend to throw a ball, the dog will still run to where it should have landed. One could say that if it could read minds, it would have known the intent to not throw the ball and wouldn't have reacted.

I suppose everyone knows about the horse that could do arithmetic? Give it a sum to add up (eg 3+4) and it would stamp its hoof the right number of times (7 in case you are wondering ). Eventually it was discovered that it was picking up on very subtle facial queues from its owner. The owner wasn't even aware he was 'pulling faces'.

Dogs and cats are smarter than horses and some of their senses are sharper than ours. They can certainly hear approaching cars much sooner than we can, and recognise 'their' car from others - even our budgie could do that. They also have an idea of the time. My mother used to live just around the corner from the school. The school bell would sound at the change of periods and the dog would ignore it - until the home time bell. Then the dog would get up and go and wait at the school gate.

Put all that together and you can explain a lot of amazing behaviour.

Hi Davin,

No one has been able to fool my dog like you mentioned. I have even thrown a stick or even a rock. He starts to go but stops.

It works when I throw a small lump of mince meat. He drops the mince to chase the ball. Crazy dog.

Cheers

My ducks started quacking at 3:00pm when my daughter's back from school. Even when she has no school. Empty stomach methinks.

The many dog's in and around my area start to ' howl / sing ' together .. then a few minutes later . . .off in the distance I then ' hear ' an Ambulance / Cop Car Siren ..... they hear it before I do.

Dog's also have a ' smelling sense ' 100,000 times more sensitive than Man.... ( Documentary on Dogs .. A Mans Best Friend )
That's why they are used in Snow Rescue / Drug Detection / even Medical fields.

We feed them because "It puts the cat food in the bowl, it does this whenever it's told" ... My feline master must be obeyed... Lol

Hi Marty,

Sounds like you've got a clever pup there, if he drops the ball to chase the meat, he's certainly got his priorities in order... Hehehe

Hehehehe maybe mine is just dumb/gullible.. Hehehe
(although, as I was writing, he just came barrelling around a corner and skidded into the side of the couch, I'm leaning more towards dumb than gullible... )

While on the subject of animals:

When the rains hit inland the lakes have some water. Birds, and hundreds of them gather at the lakes. Where they come from?
They come from miles away of-course, how do they know?

The following is even better. Kangaroos, like some other marsupials mate during dry periods. The mother 'roos can hold up to three unborn joeys.
When rain is due and long before it comes the mother roo gives birth to one joey. Bushies from the outback use this as a definite sign of the coming of wet weather. It is that reliable.

I heard well before the 2010+ rainy summers that the big wet was on the way. Most of the adult female roos had joeys in the pouch. We certainly did get some big "wets". If you recall before that was drought.

Animals are uncanny that way. They often act strangely before an earthquake. The list goes on.

Cheers

Quite right. People have cats. Cats have staff.
