Petavius, Snellius and Stevinus from the 11/8/06

With the moon so bright what's an imager to do

From last night, a mosaic of 5 images covering the area from Petavius up to and including Fraunhofer.

ToUcam Pro @ 5 fps, 1/50th sec exposure, minimal gain and gamma. Processed in Registax using best 100/500 images. Light waveletting, no curves/histogram or gamma adjustment.

Mosiac performed automatically by Autostitch.

Hi Paul

Wow - that brings back memories from last night/this morning. You have created a very natural looking and dramatic mosaic - well done. Each individual frame is superb but when assembled in this mosaic, the effect is stunning!

Cheers

Dennis

Great work Paul, a very pitted surface up there. Great detail and nice mosaic.

Top stuff.

Thanks guys, I'm really happy with this scene, especially the way the crater walls of Petavius and Furnerius are seeming to just hang there in the blackness

That's a beautiful mosaic Paul.
I love how the rim of the craters just appear out of the darkness around the edge.
