IC4628 full narrowband 13 hours

The other night I finally collected enough SII to put this image together. I might revisit the processing a few times yet as it looks just a little flat to me, but maybe not so to others.

This is an interesting looking object in narrow band as opposed to how it looks in broad band images. It was a filler object for me but I am considering doing it with the RC12 once the camera comes back from SBIG. I think it lends itself to closer examination.

Not as many hours as I have recently been collecting but the data was pretty good after 13 hours so I figure I will go looking for something else in the area.

Thanks Fred, how do you mean slightly bright? Is it the overall image or the main nebula on its own? Interested in what you mean here.

I dropped the brightness down a little, which I think works better now. Thoughts?

Nice image and very well processed! I saw no magenta stars in there.
I suppose that there is less Oiii signal in this object so hubble palette is not giving much 3d feeling to eyes.

Hi Paul,
Looking nice.
When compared to the first one here:
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/a...e.php?a=165308

You have more yellow now as expected but you seem to have lost the
that glorious red/orange colour - just a little.

Worth another final tweak - I reckon.

cheers
Allan

Thanks Louie and Ted for your comments. Ted yes this is relatively a low level of signal. I could probably get some more OIII as this is very dim.

Yes this object has not much OIII and that certainly affects the 3D look to the image. I might try to pull another 5 hours to see what effect that takes on, though I really think this needs to be done with the RC12 for that close up look. The OIII will be more dominant then for the area imaged and so I will get more of the effect seen typically. Martin Pugh has a lovely rendition of this object in both wide and narrow field.

Hmm Maybe but I am trying to look more like this image. I like the colouring of that image. I think the red orange in the bi colour is more of a product of the combination of both those wave lengths. When I added the SII the look changed again to this.
