Wedge Tailed Eagle Landing.

Been away, up around the Bunya Mountains (QLD),working on various natural history programs for government departments.Part of the work involved photography. Here, I used a home made remote activated camera from a Sony S600 digital camera. These take a vastly better image than regular 'trail cameras'.

Sometimes I get no images at all,on this occasion I have over 500 images of a wedge tailed eagle. So still processing all that data, here is just one image, and another of a high res via link.Already had major interest in these from various wildlife and outdoor magazines, and N.H publishers.

Higher res of landing.

Lovely capture Chris, as always, a shame about the shadow though, I presume it is a tree.

Amazing shots. Was the camera strategically positioned or was it luck that he landed there? I would try to adjust the cyan coloured skies (a little overexposed).

Greg.

Yes Greg, the camera was very close to a dead wild dog carcass, that I had dispatched early in the day on the 2000 acre property.Have a full time job doing feral animal control. The carcass was put there, and then camera angled so as to get image of background as well as whatever animal came along. There is over 900 images of eagle feeding.

Often another wild dog will come in,or a wild pig or feral cat.Have not had to time to do more processing, the sky could be improved on.I can send you the original file to have a fiddle with.( if someone is really board I can send them 900 eagles to play with-I've only just viewed some more last night-there was a heap very early in morning-would have look good but cam was covered in ice and dew-will have to make up some sort of solar power dew heater ring on a timer)

here is another of the eagle.
