Thanks

It is nice I suppose, sometimes hard to realise nice spots are in your own backyard.

i like #2 especially, what camera and lens, and did you use a static tripod and use the 500 rule?

Thanks Pat, we just have to sit down and think about local spots which make the most of the situation, not always easy to do.
#2 is three 30s exposures, although surprisingly perhaps the stack is only used on the foreground to get less noise in the lit foreground. The rest of the frame is one 30s exposure, I liked it just how it was a single shot so didn't complicate it with a stack. All 3 exposures were taken on a Vixen Polarie on photo tripod, so are tracked at sidereal rate.
Camera: Canon 6D @ 6400ISO
Lens: I think it was the Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 (wide, full open). I say "think" because I was using the Tamron and Canon 17-40 f/4 on the night and right now the power's out here so I can't access the EXIF on the files on the NAS

[edit: checked - my guess was right!]
