Teach our children well

G,day Cobbers,

Well I finally did it. Yesterday I Donated the 250mm Dob to the local primary school. But I am reminded how marginal the general communities knowledge of Astronomy is (just read the attachment taken from the school news letter).

A very noble gesture indeed Micko..they'll get the spelling right one day..but now you have provided them with an extrodinary opportunity to travel back through space and time to visit strange and wonderful places, planets, galaxies, etc!!...fantastic!!!

Don't worry about it guys. I'll be contacting the school again to organise a viewing programme, for the kids and the teachers.

Very generous gesture Micko. I suppose that with equipment like that at least the horoscopes will be accurate...

Don't worry about it too much Mick.

While your teaching them to look thru the Astrological Telescope they can get to try the different Lenses at different Magnications and see the Horoscope Galaxy.

I did a talk at the Snake Valley Historical Society last night and a lady KEPT calling it 'Astrology' even after all the other people were correcting her. Then she asked can you see the viens in a fly's wings!!!

Good onya Mick.
A very generous act indeed.

Well done.

Just remind them to collimate regularly or it will turn into a horror-scope.
