Decided to try and capture some shots of the meteors last night with my Cybershot. Many thanks to Lester and Mike in advising me of the camera settings.
The sky was 7.5-8/10. Saw quit a number of meteors one really spectacular golden fireball with tail
. I wouldn't have had any chance at all of getting any shots.
But seeing as I had the camera set correctly and mounted on the tripod I decided to take some single shot 30 sec exposures of the Milky Way and Crux areas, which I had never attempted before.
We then plugged the camera into the TV not knowing what to expect. We were pleasantly suprised with the results. The Milky Way area......... all the star colours were evident we captured the tail of Scorpio also Corona Australis in the FOV M7..M20..Nebulas and Clusters. The Crux area different star colours again and even Omega Centauri. We were thrilled
So we eagerly attached the camera to the PC. All we could see clearly were the stars all the other detail seen on the TV screen had almost disappeared.
Can anyone explain why we could see a
great result on the TV but not on the PC.
Have attached a couple of the images PLEASE REMEMBER THIS REAL BEGINNERS STUFF HERE GUYS DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH. Just a first attempt with a simple digital camera.
They are very dim compared to our image on TV can't even see the milky way on the attached photos which was very evident when viewed from our camera to the TV
