Comet C/2012 X1 (LINEAR) meets the Helix nebula.

Together at last. I've been waiting for this for I don't know how long. ED80 at F4.4, Orion 0.8X focal reducer, Lumicon Deep Sky Filter, 3 x 2 minutes, Pentax K-x.

Thanks Glen. It's brighter than Guide 9 suggests. I make it about mag 9.

Dave, it's slow moving so it's still near the Helix nebula. It's moving deeper into southern skies but away from us so will fade, eventually.
