Making an artifical Star

While my last thread delt with an artifical day star, I decided to make an artifical star. Very easy to do and it works really well at 75m.

I purchased a Duracel rubber hand torch, It has a halogen lamp in it, so it is nice and bright.

Then I got a square sheet of alfoil and got a pin and put a hole in it right in the centre. Then I placed the hole dead centre over the lamp end of the torch. Then using a rubber band I secured the alfoil over the touch. Once secure I trimmed the foil with a pair of scissors.

Finally turn on the torch and see how bright the star is. Man is it bright, but a tiny little hole. Perfect for collimating any scope. Just tape it onto something 65-75m away and begin collimation. You can go further away if you like, but this is not really necessary according to all the experts who write books. Anyway I will try to test it in the next couple of days.
