looking for info on Nova Puppis 1942 cp puppis

Hello, I have a few astro pics on my office wall which usually sparks conversation-the latest being a person whose Father visually discovered nova puppis in Wales.
I am intrigued and would love more information, I have Burnhams but would appreciate more. Especially the human side to the story. If you have any ideas please pm me and I will give you my email address.
