Repro of the Milky Way Core

I did a pano of the Milky Way a few weeks ago and I thought I'd restitch the core area and do a repro with a new processing work flow I have worked out for my wide fields.

What do you think?

All I did was reduce the unwanted colours by desaturating them (green cast, magenta CA from the lens ect) while careful stretching was applied. No colours or saturation were added, a little noise reduction was applied.

14 image pano, 200 seconds each at ISO 1600, Canon 1100D with an 85mm lens.

Astrobin.

Astrobin large.

Astrobin really large.

I have included a link to the original 16-bit tiff, please feel free to download it and have a go at processing. And please post your version, I would like to see what you come up with. CLICK HERE for dropbox link. (94mb)

Cheers
Jo

What Rusty said!

All the nebula stands out really well, Lagoon, Triffid, Prawn, Cat's Paw, War & Peace, M17 and a big one I'm not sure of the name. They are all there. Brilliant!

Just wonder what the white dots all over the photo, are they noise or stars?

The noise in this image is quite low, so yep, all the white dots are stars

They can be better seen in the larger version.

Cheers
