Poor Jupiter from Melbourne July 28th

Have not posted an image for a while courtecy of the atrocious seeing conditions over the last few weeks that seem to have been the pattern across the country.

Seeing was typical 3-4/10, and this is the best AVI of 9 AVI's I shot.

Re-sampled at 1.2 times in Registax and then reduced to 75% giving a 90% image scale on the 12.5" and 5 x Powermate. 130 of the best RGB frames stacked and processed using ME Deconvolution (6 iterations at 1.4 - Exponential)

Clear skies and lets hope the seeing improves before Jupiter is gone.

Very good for the conditions. Nice variation of colour, which helps to reveal the detail. Far better than anything I have produced all July.

I like it John, nothing ordinary about that. You've come ahead in leaps and bounds with your processing. Very nice image.

When the seeing is good, you are going to produce something spectacular.

That's a pretty good image given the conditions, John.

I ducked outside for an hour or so last evening to try out my newly purchased Barlow (2x). The moon was already behind trees so I observed Jupiter for a while. I don't know whether my collimation is off (it looks OK with a star test) but the seeing was truly dreadful.

I haven't been on this site for very long but am constantly amazed by the images members post here. Bravo!

As Matt said in his thread the IIS forum is fantastic in terms of information sharing so well done Mike, and the proof is in the pudding so to speak, with so many people posting great images and showing an amazing improvement within a short period of time. Well done everyone!
