WLFD SOL and Luna 21 April 2014

here is a 9 panel Luna image with the DMK51 and the 127ed taken early this morning (in severe light pollution) and then went on to do a 14 panel White Light Full Disk SOL.

the other project will take a while - i did a 33 panel moon shot with the DMK41 and then for good measure i undertook a full disk animation of the sun this afternoon - the proms were outathisworld , that one may take a while as i have 241 video grabs to process

That is a superb WL full disc image David, how did you manage to “knit” the panels together so seamlessly?

Cheers

Dennis

PS - love the Lunar mosaic too!

Thanks Dennis. The one thing I make sure of now is that I get even illumination and don’t touch the settings after I set the camera. The other is making sure I get the panels in the shortest time possible. After stacking in autostakert I then put into Photoshop and crop the edges to remove the nasty bits. After that I then use PS again to use the auto stitch part select and then hope for the best – sometimes it also comes down to the order of selection of the frames for combining. I have noticed lately with the bigger stitches that some artefacts in the form of white pixels are introduced, but the clone tool fixes that. I then merge the layers and save the file so I can use registax 6 for the wavelets – then back into PS to trim rotate and colour, as well as the TOPAZ tweaking - see simple

Very nice repro David, it’s the proverbial “razor sharp” image.

Cheers
