EQDIR cable + USB extension cable

I have one of these fancy EQDIR cables and need to extend it's length. Can I get a standard USB extension cable or do I need one of them power over USB cables?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Standard extension is ok, but it depends on how long you go. I personally wouldn't go further than 2 meters.

+1 from me.
I find it even more convenient to have a six port powered USB hub under the mount, then all the cameras, EQDir. etc. etc. plug in there and only one USB (can be longer than 2mtr) back to the laptop.
I run my hub from a 12v-6v convertor.

Oh yeah that isn't a bad idea.

Might look into something like that.

What do these converters look like?
