Saturn April 19th

Saturn in fairish/variable seeing. With this much noise in the image, adhering to guidelines about length of imaging runs makes little difference, so this is a blend of two runs (no de-rotation, but it still seems to improve dynamic range just a tad): 1539UT and 1624UT.

LX200-ACF 10", 2.5x Powermate, Canon 600d. AS!2, Registax and GIMP. Stacked 7% of 6000 frames in each run.

very nice image with a DSLR. Undoubtly, the Powermate has great influence. But for DSLR, it was a good image.

Thanks, Jorge.

Although I would do better in good seeing, I seem to be bumping against the limits of a DSLR, at least I hope that's the main limiting factor on the equipment side. If it's the limits of the optics I'm bumping up against, then that will be much more expensive to improve.
