My first moon 'shot'

Well, it's pretty basic, but considering it was taken by a handheld HTC One phone over my eyepiece (on the 12 inch Dob), I thought it came up pretty well! Even better considering the moon was partially obscured by some foliage.

Nice one Simon! I like the way the moon is lit up in this photo, gives it a lot of apparent depth.

Thanks! Yes the moon had a real 3d look last night. Damn bright in the 12 incher though!!

Yes I can tell it's addictive. Off to Bintel to get a n eyepiece mount, should be interesting what my Panasonic Lumix LX7 will produce. The moon is such a beautiful subject.
