ED80 first faint & fuzzy

Hi all...

my ED80 arrived a couple of weeks ago, after a week or so of mandatory cloudy weather, and a lost parcel containing my t-ring, focal reducer, uhc-e filter and a few other bits & pieces, i eventually managed to attach it to my HEQ5, insert the 700D, point it skyward and snap a few pics...
i still have a lot to learn about image acquisition and even more about post processing, but i'm really enjoying the challenge...
i bought a Saxon 114mm newt. and modded Toucam a few of years and have dabbled in astro imaging, but the small aperture scope and webcam resolution didn't make a great combination for anything other than moon shots...

cheers...

Ian

Nice clean pic, well done. Now you see where the slippery slope is and it only costs more $$$

thanks Brent...i've actually derived the following formula in an attempt to calculate a solution to the 'slippery slope' dilemma...
E=mc2 where E is equipment, m is mountain and c is cash...

Beautiful stars all the way to the edge. I like the field size too.

the original field size was quite a lot larger, i had several attempts at cropping... the final image is around 40% of the original...

cheers...
