Red dot finder momentary on installation

There was no other location for Chris's (Garbz) red dot finder momentary on switch (small version), except at the front. It works very well ~1min on, then off. Press again and so on. Intensity control works as well.

9mm hole - Selley's Knead It and indelible marker to hold in place and look pretty. Follow wiring instructions. Only difference was, I had to swap the the LED wires to get mine working.

Great little device - no more prematurely flat batteries.

Oh now doesn't that look schmick

I removed the intensity control on mine and replaced it with the switch, and fixed the intensity using a resistor.

I should have figured that some may be setup such that the potentiometer is on the low-side of the laser rather than the high side. In this case (your case) swapping the blue and green leads is exactly the right option.

Glad to hear it's working well for you.

/Edit: I've updated the post with the original instructions. In case anyone needs them they are located in the for sale thread: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...90&postcount=3

It looks like it belongs

It's not easy to tell, first look, which side of the intensity control is high and low. For these low cost finders, the resistor can be seen, without dismantling, on the starboard side, along the inside of the casing pointing forward.

The unit must be dismantled. The front and back adjustment knobs are very tight. They lock up as designed when reassembling. I needed pliers to hold when undoing - suggest a vice protecting the knurl with a cloth or nylon jaws/protector.

This is a very useful little accessory. Thanks again Chris.

Yeah I thought I was going to break mine when I started unscrewing it.
