Hehe its back - Mars hoax email

Just got this from my brother-in-law....

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultimate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth.
Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am.
It will look like the earth has 2 moons.
The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
Share this with your friends as all those ALIVE on this DAY will never see it again in their lifetime.

Mike - are you ready for some serious imaging????

Funny - Starry Night Pro tells me Mars is rising at 0728 on 27 Aug 06 - it must be wrong, because email stories are always true!

Funny how many normally intelligent friends keep emailing me this. Funnier yet is that two different people who sent me this last year (and who I politely explained what it was really about, and the mistakes included) also sent me it again this year.

I'm sure we'll see it back next year too. Wonder if it will be true by then? LMAO
