Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD

Ok while not strictly a telescope it approaches the size of one and for those of us with family and other things sometimes a quick snap is all we get. As an aside I purchased this lense more so for closeups of the Sunset and rise as well as for quick snaps of the moon.I have it on a 60D with a 1.4 sigma extender and yes auto focus still works but not super fast.I have also added a Uv filter and a Circular Polarizer. At 95mm aperture these are not cheap $250 & $350 respectively from Sigma(Made in Japan)
The lense is made in China but the lense hood in the Phillipines(go figure) and its cost was $1350 from Camera House. So far I have not taken many pics of course the clouds and rain have arrived my fault.
I have noticed a blue tinge when used with the Extender on the moon.
As I take more shots I'll post them in the terrestrial Section .
Below I will add some pics of the set up and its comparative size to my previous 400mm.The 65% greater light gathering capability is a plus despite its f6.3 at maximum length.

good work Derek,writing this up,and the images too-all very helpful.
I'll be very keen to see your wildlife images in the future.

I am using the 400 L prime for a great deal of my wildlife stuff,and find it easy to get about.But-this Tamron-at that price,may have something to offer me in the future.I've seen the Sigma 150-500 in use by two people I know,and was not fussed on it.This Tamron lens appears a great value product.

looks like a quick solution, a bit of fringing but how does the framing work out? i had a sigma 50-500 and it got me good results at f9 - F11 the fringing might tighten up if you used a higher f ratio - bad tradeoff woud be upping the iso to get shots quicker? can you do a standard shot sequence from 150-600?
