Get out to a Dark Site!

This time of year is full of opportunity to get your scope out to a dark site with fellow IIS members. Have a look through the Star Parties forum section and pick out an event close to you and get out there and experience a true dark site and the performance that your scope can deliver.

These dark site events range from the full-on ISS event at 24-27 April, to various regional dark site camping trips, and even events that last a few dark hours at a site near a major city.

I am promoting these events here in General Chat beause I don't think the event announcements get seen by everyone in the Star Parties forum section.

Come on!

I'm heading out to give my scope it's first run under dark skies this weekend. I'm heading out west to the Capertee Valley near Mudgee, unfortunately it's close to full moon, but I'm still hoping for some good planetary viewing.

Fingers crossed for clear skies
