Yeah I used a mask, but I didn't notice any burnt out cores. This was through light pollution with an Astronomik CLS filter, so I am happy what colours did come through, I did saturate the stars more but I was getting a red ring around the stars for some reason, so I did desaturate a little. Also I may have burnt the cores when I did a final Curves to darken the background a little, but may have pushed the star brightness too much... Thanks for the input .
one of the reasons i'd like to go narrow band one day. But it has taken a little while to learn how to process the Astronomik CLS filters colouring, out of the image. Thanks Graeme.
