It's New To Us

Since our first light with our 27mm Panoptic on Tuesday night we have been lucky enough to have another two perfect nights.

We live on a ridge road and yesterday we looked South West across the valley to the Dandenongs from the back of our property and after many days of rain and light wind everthing was crystal clear and clear blue skies. Accross the valley to the East from our front garden looking accross to part of the Warburton Ranges it was the same so we knew we were in for a great night observing.

After spending some time with Tarantula..EtaCarina..Lagoon..Trifi d..Swan.. Jewel Box.. OmegaCentauri..Jupiter..Sombrero and other favourites.
We thought we might share our thoughts of how much we are enjoying the discovery of " New To Us " DSO'S all being easier to find with this great EP.

We browsed through the cluster of Virgo galaxies......... so many so different some very dull others bright and fascinating.

The most exciting DSO we found that we had not seen before was Centauris A........Through the 10mm XW we were able to see very clearly the glow upper and lower with the dark lane through the centre quite an amazing sight very detailed. Yes it does look like a hamburger

We also found NGC4945 ........ a long cigar shaped Galaxy very large but not very bright but we were finishing our session because it was sooooo cold....Zero degrees... but we will revisit it again tonight.

Yes it looks like it's going to be another beauty again in Melbourne

That'll be four nights in a row 8-9/10 ...........KEEP THEM COMING

Glad to see you are really enjoying the new eyepiece and getting your moneys worth, and isnt nice to finally get some respite from the horrible grey skies we have had for so long now.
