Full Spectrum Canon 400D + Shoestring DSUSB

Ideal beginners package!

In order to finance a new camera, I have up for sale my trusty full spectrum modified Canon 400D with accessories, plus a Shoestring Astronomy DSUSB unit.

The camera has been modified by removal of both the stock Canon UVIR filter AND the anti alias filter, allowing use for both deep sky astrophotgraphy as well as spectroscopy (sensitivity from UV right through to MIR). I have used this camera for deep sky astrophotography in conjunction with an Astronomik L clip in filter (not included in the sale, but available from Bintel etc) which has proved ideal for my dark sky location. An Astronomik CLS-CCD clip in filter (also not included, but available from Bintel et al) would be a good alternative filter choice for light polluted skies. This camera has also been upgraded to the 400plus firmware that provides additional functionality such as increased ISO range and an inbuilt intervalometer.

The Shoestring Astronomy DSUSB unit allows this camera to be fully operated with BackyardEOS, allowing the user to dither between sub frames to reduce noise in the final stacked image. See here for more info on the product.

Accessories included:

Genuine Canon usb cable (camera to PC)
1GB Sandisk Compact Flash card (containing the 400plus firmware)
Aftermarket AC adapter for Canon 400D (allowing the user to operate the camera from mains power)
Cable to connect the DSUSB unit to the remote shutter release socket of the Canon 400D

Photos taken with this camera package include:
