Collection of Mars images from 3rd MarchUT

Hi all

I've attached a collection of all Mars images that I managed to capture of the morning of the 4th March. Seeing was getting better as the imaging run progressed..

Fantastic set Maurice! It is great to see progression of the red planet at high rez. It is rather sobering to see pretty much the same if not more detailed images now at 12" than when it was at 25" in 2003, how much cameras and software have progressed since (as we are using more or less the same instruments).

Thanks Bratislav. Yes, you're right - I sometimes think "yeah, that's not too bad" & then I remember that Mars will only get to 14" this time around. The software now is great; I don't know how we managed without Astrostakkert in the 'old days' and I think the ASI camera is working well for me.

Thanks Mark. After a while planetary imaging can become a little obsessive I think. You just get used to getting up at 2am for 3 hours & it seems weird when you stop doing it.
