NGC2359 repro - it's all I've got!

Hi all!

It's been so long since I last posted here I feel I need to reintroduce myself!

Here's a repro of my NGC2359 data taken in March last year. I've been playing with colour management and feel that I'm getting a good handle on what my system produces and how I work the data to get it closer to what I consider "real" colours. I've also been playing with Lightroom 5 for my normal photos so thought I'd see what I could do with it using the output from Startools.

The first thing I've decided is to avoid trying to do any sharpening in Lightroom! It's just doesn't handle the stars all that well as you might be able to tell from this image!

Anyway, I post this image purely so that I don't forget how to post!

Image details:
Telescope: GSO RC8
Mount: HEQ5 Pro
f8, 1624mm fl
Guiding: PHD
12 x 10min subs
No Darks due to a major stuff up in data acquisition
15 March, 2013

Cheers,
Mario

Thanks Mike for the feedback. All I was interested in this reprocessing was to see how close I can get my colours to what an object, in this case NGC2359, should be. I have been working on this issue for a long time as my data is heavily influenced by LP and the UHC-S filter I use to combat it.

I've come up with several processing techniques that go right back to how I debayer the data in DSS and I'm now happy to the point where I've given a talk on these techniques at several astro meetings around Brisbane (3 to be exact, but who's counting!).

Anyway once again thanks for taking the time to comment - I appreciate it.

Right, back to looking at clouds...

Cheers,
Mario
