Hi all

Here's the last of my lunar trio from last night. This time, the schiller crater, an image made up of 3 avi's and 10 alignment points.

Processing was long and arduous - I can't wait for registax to handle MAP processing.

It's my best image of this crater, which has fascinated me since I first laid eyes on it.

edge of the crater is sharp, the craterlets lovely and the focus across the image is great.

Another beauty Mike. The image scale, sharpness and resolution combined are a killer combination. I have taken the liberty of uploading my Schiller which was captured in maybe 6/10 seeing IIRC? Quite a difference in scale eh? C9.25 and x2.5 Powermate.

Keep 'em coming.......you're well on the way to convincing me to upgrade to a DMK in the next few months.

Dennis your image is very good also! My focal length was probably about 6500-7000mm, with the 5x powermate giving 6250mm + the filter wheel and then the camera.

Maybe I should take more time processing the first time around, but I was on the laptop screen and it looked fine.. on the full size screen it could hold up to some more sharpening and contrast enhancement.

I used a high pass layer enhancement, a mild unsharp mask and +15 contrast in this reprocessed version.

Oh and a correct to my last comment about FL - the filterwheel and adapters add about 40mm to the image chain, making my 5x powermate a 6x, so these images are taken at 7500mm FL.

Must have missed these before Mike, they're truly beautiful images with equisitely fine crater detail.

What filtering are you using for these - it says R + IR?

Thanks Al + Rob.

Rob, R (red) + IR (infrared blocking) filters. The IR blocking filter sits in the filter wheel 1.25" adapter, so all light comes through the IR blocking filter. I then also had the red filter selected, so the only the red wavelenghts of light came through.
