I presume that is for the SS 1.8.whatever Android version. There should be a similar intro discount on 2.x when they release that. Maybe Southern Stars should sync up the version numbers for all three platforms.

Edit: Tim predicts around March 2014 for the Android version.

They should do an upgrade option at a discounted price for those who already have SkySafari 3.

The Apple store doesn't have a facility to do upgrade pricing.
SS3 is not being removed in the near future as it runs on iOS5 and iOS6 for those who can't upgrade to iOS7. Tim said they won't be updating it.

Well I bought it as well it is great for the iPad 3 and have no problem connecting and turning the scope around with WiFi .
On the iPhone 4S the new controls to turn the scope around are too intrusive for the small screen the iPad is fine all round it is a great upgrade and has all the bells and whistle's of more expensive programs on the market for PC's.
Hope the Android version is the same.version 1.85 is great and has the extra bonus of Bluetooth compared to iPads and iPhones not having that function for controlling the scopes.
A++
If I was going to buy another tablet it would not be a iPad it would be the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition they are fantastic with SkySafari.

Got it looks good but I just got the 3pro on sale few weeks back, bit disappointed that they offered such a special just before the 4 launch. I wonder if we can get a refund on the 3 pro.

A few things I like so far...
  • Higher resolution images
  • Crisper interface
  • Sort function in an observing list - although I'd really like an optimum position option or sort by multiple options
  • Night mode goes to red with no white keyboard

Hi all,
SkySafari 4 Pro is great. I just bought it, and have not even scratched the surface as to what it can do.
Its a marvelous piece of software....

Q/ Does anyone know if I can operate my Meade LX200 GPS with this SkySafari Pro 4 software from my new iPad Mini ? Either wireless or with a cable connected ?
I may need to use the wi-fi module from Bintel called StarSeek wi-fi module, but I don't know if this will work with iPad mini and SkySafari Pro 4.

Any help would be great.

LX200 GPS is listed as a scope in the settings

Not sure if the Orion module is compatible with Sky a Safari though. I got my Skyfi from Southern Stars direct, works out about the same in the end.

I have been looking into these and have decided to make my own but research tells me Orion wifi works with sky safari. A slightly cheaper consideration ($150) the Nexus-s from astrodevices.com.
