Santos Tour Down Under

I have to applaude the South Australians for their spectator support of the Santos Tour Down Under this year, the numbers appear to be on the increase.

Unfortunately Evans has lost the lead to Gerrans in Stage 5 Willunga Hill.

I've been thinking similarly myself watching this year's coverage - that the crowds are looking more like TDF crowds. It can only be good for the sport.

Shame about Evans' losing the lead. Still, only 1 second in it, so anything could happen. It's good that two Aussies are battling for the jersey, though, isn't it?

I've been watching some of it on late night television-they certainly do have good crowds.

I can tell you first hand there was a fantastic atmosphere on Willunga Hill today. As we walked up before the first climb we could hear the noise coming from the top. Definitely the biggest crowd I have seen on the climb.

Treat yourselves to a week long party and make plans to come over next year.

I am a fan of Evans but it was a gutsy well deserved stage win by Richie Porte.
