The result of messing with DSS

The attached image[ if you can call it that] is the result of messing
around with DSS under the guidance of Screwdriverone[alias Chris].
I should point out that it is the result of stacking and playing with
3 appalling 25 and 30 sec [ISO 6400] images which had trailed stars.
It is in no way intended to represent an image that anyone would be proud of. I still think though that it's amazing what you can do with
crap. just discovered that it looks better at a monitor setting of 50% magnification.

Glad I could point you in the right direction Ray and it was lovely to have a chin wag and a laugh on the phone with you

Still, if you realise this is only 1 min and 15 secs of THREE subs, it isnt half bad considering it is only "processed" using stacking and curves within DSS.

PLUS, it is with JPG files at 6400 ISO, so there is plenty of room for improvement.

I'd say this is a pretty good start and you are well on the way.

Keep it up young man!

Cheers

Chris

I was eager to try out my new found[but minimal] skills with DSS, so
here's another couple of my attempts. Eta Carina with the emphasis on the red, and the second one over saturated so the background stars have
some colour, giving, I think, a slightly 3D effect to the white foreground
ones. First one 2x 20secs @ 6400. Second one 12x various 3-13 secs
@6400. Again better at 50% mag. Must find out how to make the images smaller.

Wow raymo! That's awesome stuff from just a few subs! My first one was just one single sub. I also enjoyed the last 2 you posted. Great work. I hope this inspires you to keep trying. You did sound rather negative a while back. Good on you Chis for jumping in and lending a helping hand. I'm also a newbie to imaging (3 sessions so far) and with every attempt I get more and more inspired. Thanks to the wonderful people her at IIS.

Nice work Ray,

That Eta one in particular came out very nicely, looking good!

Keep at it, more subs, you need more subs!

Cheers

Chris

PS. Thanks Jon & Bruce, I was happy to help

Thanks folks. I am dredging up what few subs I already have in
my laptop, as I haven't had a chance to do any imaging recently.
Maybe tonight, who knows.
